Chris. That only works for Columbus systems, Amundsen requires the mandatory use of a Skoda specific SD card to do any sat nav updates. Also if you do any map updates, use the VW sat navigation site for a more up to date set of maps. Use Golf GTi as the car (after 2017) and then choose either:
I have a 2013 Skoda Octavia Estate Diesel, Elegance Model. The internal touch sensitive controls (not the buttons down the sides) for the Radio, Sat Nav and media etc occasionally do not work. I.e. the screen freezes until I press and hold the on/off button which seems to clear things by re-booting the whole system .
It used to work OK and with not using the car much during lockdown, I cannot say when the problem started, but probably in the last 6 months. What does work is the radio and phone functions. The sat nav works very occasionally, Spotify sometimes and there is no access to other apps most importantly, Google maps at all.
After a short holiday in which the octavia coped very well with all our family luggage and pushchairs etc, and returned 52mpg (fully laded diesel dsg estate) I was impressed. What I was not impressed with was the amundsen satnav. I already know this system is lights years behind other manufacture
Everybody goes to the VW with Seat and Skoda. It's the EC1 we got on ours from this release but casual Seat readers should not do this without the overall.nds file workaround - Google it. Doesn't apply to Skoda or VW. mapcare thingy which you have avoids doing that for Skodas. You unzip and put in the top directory on the map card, obviously.
1. Faulty ECU The engine control unit may make certain diesel engines lose power and efficiency. What repair is needed to fix an ECU fault? The ECU can often be repaired by plugging it into a computer system and reprogramming it. This should always be done by a trained professional with the correct equipment.
Then undo the nut to the fin. Help may be required to hold the fin down. The nut may not come completely off - it has an anti-theft device - a small flap of metal on the nut. Once the nut is turning freely pull the fin up from the outside (may have to pull quite hard). The nut will fall off.
